This quote really resonates with me because it is short, sharp and to the point. “This above all; to thine own self be true”. In just a few words it reminds me that I am enough, and that I do not need to do anything to please someone else if it goes against what I believe, or what I want to do. I look at this quote regularly as it reminds me to check in with myself and ensure that I am being true to myself.
The amazing thing with the body is that it gives you warnings when you are about to betray yourself. It could be a tightening of the jaw, a fluttering of the stomach, short sharp breaths, a wave of anxiety, or just a small voice in your head. However your true self nudges you into taking the right action, the most important thing is that you can sense the nudge and you act upon it. This again will take practice but the results will be worth it.
Remember: Be yourself; be true to yourself; do not engage in self-deception.
